Agencies don’t need a special mode. Running client work uses the same pieces as any team: a workspace for billing and membership, per-brand roles, and invites. There are two common setups, depending on who owns the brand.
A brand always lives in one workspace. You collaborate by inviting people into the workspace that owns the brand, not by sharing one brand across two separate accounts.

Agency of Record

The agency owns the work. You run a workspace, keep each client’s brands inside it, and invite the client in to review.
  • Your staff get Editor or Manager roles, which use a paid seat. See Seats.
  • Each client gets Viewer or Commenter on their own brand, so they can review and approve. Those roles use no seat.
  • Who pays: the agency’s account. Clients cost nothing to add.
Keep one workspace per client when you want their brands, members, and review kept separate. Switch between them from the workspace switcher, covered in Workspaces.
1

Create a workspace for the client

From the workspace switcher, create a new workspace named for the client.
2

Add the client's brands

Build or import the client’s brand inside that workspace.
3

Invite your team as editors

Invite the staff working on the account as Editor, or Manager if they should also manage members and settings.
4

Invite the client to review

Invite the client’s stakeholders as Viewer or Commenter on their brand. They can follow along and approve without taking a seat.
Only managers and the account owner can invite members. As the agency owner you have manager access to every brand automatically.

Guest on a Client’s Brand

Here the client owns the brand in their own workspace and brings the agency in to help.
  • The client invites your team from the brand’s Share panel, brand by brand. See Team Access.
  • Your Editors and Managers use the client’s seats. Viewers and Commenters are free.
  • Who pays: the brand owner’s account. The client funds the seats for the agency members who edit.
If the client only needs you to review or hand off feedback, ask for Commenter. It keeps you out of their seat count.

Common Questions

No. Editing needs an Editor or Manager role, and those use a seat on the Business plan. For review without a seat, give Viewer or Commenter access.
A brand lives in one workspace. Invite the other company’s people into that workspace, brand by brand, as guests. The workspace owner’s account covers their seats.
No. Viewer and Commenter access is free and never uses a seat, on any plan.
